This piece is written to praise God, because He is good. In this piece, a summation is given of aspects in which His goodness is revealed. This happens in an antiphonal way: one choir sings something about Gods goodness in Dutch, after which the other choir agrees to this in French by singing that His goodness lasts forever. The bilingualism is chosen because of the difference in sound between these languages: Dutch has a 'powerful' sound, which suits the verses, while French is flowing, which suits Gods goodness that is poured over the audience from above, as it were. Praise the LORD, soli Deo gloria!
